Bike Weekend 2019

No triathlon this time: trails, mountains and sunshine. This year's bike weekend drew the Triamt crowd back to Lenzerheide. While most of us set off from Säuliamt for Graubünden early on Saturday morning, a few were already settled in at the Hotel Sarain. At 10 o'clock the 20 members gathered in Lenzerheide, some kitted out with hiking boots, others with mountain bikes.

That was where the group first went its separate ways. On the bikes too, some took on rocky trails while the second group rolled down the gravel tracks into the valley to Rhäzüns at a gentler pace. Everyone met up again there and rode back up the mountain together. At the top our members treated themselves to a well-earned lunch before setting off again towards Churwalden, arriving back at the hotel at around 5 o'clock.

All together again, the Triamt group sat down to dinner at the Hotel Sarain. From saddle of venison to pizza, there was something for everyone.

On Sunday some were drawn over to Arosa to try out the new flow trail, while the other half stayed in Lenzerheide and took the day rather more gently. Despite a few clouds early on, the weather improved as the day went on, and by the afternoon there was sunshine to enjoy in the Bündnerland once more before the drive home to Säuliamt that evening.
